Splitboard is a type of snowboard that is designed to split into two separate skis. This unique feature allows backcountry snowboarders to ascend uphill in a manner similar to skiers using climbing skins, and then reassemble the splitboard into a snowboard for downhill riding. This concept combines the benefits of both skiing and snowboarding, making it possible for riders to explore more remote and untouched areas of the mountains that are not accessible by traditional resort lifts.
