The Cast Freetour 2.0 Pivot 15 is a Look Pivot 15 alpine binding fitted with Cast's swappable toe system. You climb on a pin tech toe, then swap to the Pivot alpine toe to ski down. This listing has 115 mm brakes in purple.

What it's for

The Freetour is for skiers who want a full alpine binding on the descent and still want to tour. On the way up you carry less weight on the ski and pivot on tech pins. On the way down you ski a Look Pivot toe and heel with a full release range of 6 to 15.

How it works

Swappable toes: a base plate stays mounted on the ski. The tech toe and the alpine Pivot toe each slide onto that plate, and Cast says the swap takes seconds

Tech toe: a CNC machined aluminum pin toe with few moving parts. It is for climbing only. Cast states it is not designed for downhill skiing, apart from small descents with skins on

Alpine toe: an aluminum Look Pivot toe with 45 mm of elastic travel and 180° multi directional release

Pivot turntable heel: the heel rotates with the boot during a release, with 28 mm of elastic travel

Heel assembly: Cast adds a brake lock and climbing risers at 0°, 8°, and 12°

Dual AFDs: one AFD covers Alpine and GripWalk soles and a second covers touring soles

• Boot soles: Alpine ISO 5355, GripWalk ISO 23223, and Touring ISO 9523
• Boot requirement for touring: tech (pin) inserts at the toe

Setup and installation

• Hole pattern: same as Look Pivot bindings, plus two extra holes for the brake retainer. Cast supplies a heel hole template
• AFD: the Alpine/GripWalk AFD comes installed. Swap to the touring AFD for ISO 9523 boots using a 2.5 mm hex key
• Mounting: must be done by a trained ski technician with the proper tools and jig. OMG's shop can mount and test bindings
