Terra is Continental's gravel tire family. This listing covers a 700 x 45 tire in two constructions, so the choice here is between casing and compound rather than size.
BlackChili compound: A tread rubber that blends synthetic rubbers with natural rubber and tuned soot particles. Grip, rolling resistance and wear life pull against each other, so Continental adjusts the blend for each riding discipline.
ProTection casing: An extra layer of puncture protection fabric that runs all the way around the casing. Continental states it is 25% lighter and gives 30% more puncture protection than the DuraSkin construction it replaced.
Grip compound: Continental describes it as flexible and damping, with a balance of grip and rolling resistance. It is built on BlackChili technology and is paired with the Trail casing.
Trail casing: A one ply casing that Continental describes as adaptive, agile and robust, made to conform to the ground while holding up to rough use.
Tubeless Ready: The casing is built to run either tubeless with sealant or with an inner tube. Continental recommends its RevoSealant for tubeless setups.
E25: Certified for use on electric bikes with assist up to 25 km/h.
