The Crank Brothers Long Spindle Kit is a pair of longer replacement pedal spindles with a full refresh kit of bearings, seals, and hardware.

What it's for

This kit does two jobs. It rebuilds worn Crank Brothers pedals with new bearings and seals, and it moves the pedals farther out from the crank arms. The long spindle gives a 57 mm Q factor, compared with 52 mm for the short spindle. More spacing helps if your shoes or heels rub the crank arms or chainstays, or if you want a wider stance.

How it works

Bearings: The kit replaces the Enduro MAX cartridge bearings and igus glide bearings that the spindles turn on.

Double seal system: New internal and external seals keep water and grit out of the pedal body.

Compatibility

• Fits: Crank Brothers Eggbeater, Candy, Mallet, 5050, and Double Shot pedals, model year 2010 and newer
• Does not fit: Stamp alloy pedals
• Mallet E: Crank Brothers says to confirm fit with its support team first
• How to check yours: Pedals from before 2010 use different internals. If you are not sure of the year, bring the pedals to OMG's bike shop.

Setup and installation

• Process: Crank Brothers says installing the long spindle kit is the same as the standard length kit, and publishes step by step charts and videos on its support site.
• Service: OMG's bike shop can rebuild your pedals with this kit.
