Hanger 65 from derailleurhanger.com is a black anodized 6061 aluminum replacement derailleur hanger that mounts on the inside of many Specialized frames.

What it's for

A derailleur hanger is the small replaceable tab that connects the rear derailleur to the frame. It is made to bend or break in a crash so the frame and derailleur are spared. A bent hanger causes poor shifting that no cable adjustment will fix.

• Note: the Specialized S-Works M5 Hardtail switched to Hanger 65 in late 2005. Earlier ones used Hanger 12.
• How to check yours: hangers are frame specific. Remove your old hanger and compare its shape, mounting holes, and thickness to the photos for this hanger number, and confirm your bike's make, model, and year. Not every year of every model listed uses this hanger.

Setup and installation

• Fasteners: 1, an M8 long chainring bolt. It is not included.
• OMG's bike shop can install the hanger, check its alignment, and adjust the derailleur.
