The DT Swiss Champion is a straight gauge spoke, meaning it is the same diameter from head to thread. It is sold here as single spokes in the length and diameter you choose.

What it's for

The Champion is DT Swiss's workhorse spoke. With no butting it is simple and stiff, and it suits repairs and everyday wheel builds. Pick the diameter to match the wheel's job and the spoke you are replacing.

Sizing and fit

  • 2.0 mm: DT Swiss lists this for road wheels through gravity mountain bike wheels. Stocked in 291, 292, and 293 mm.
  • 2.34 mm: DT Swiss lists this for high performance electric bikes and tandem wheels. Stocked in 282 and 284 mm.
  • 1.6 mm: stocked in 285, 286, 287, 288, and 289 mm. See the note under Compatibility.
  • How to check yours: Measure an intact spoke from the same side of the same wheel, and measure its diameter with calipers. Diameter must match your nipples, and the 2.34 mm size needs hub and rim holes large enough for it.

Compatibility

  • Nipples, 2.0 mm spokes: 2.0 mm thread (FG 2.3)
  • Nipples, 2.34 mm spokes: 2.34 mm thread (FG 2.6)
  • 1.6 mm: DT Swiss's current Champion page lists 1.8, 2.0, and 2.34 mm only. Confirm the thread size of the 1.6 mm spokes before choosing nipples.
  • Electric bikes: DT Swiss approves Champion spokes for electric bikes up to 32 km/h or 250 W

Specs

  • Profile: straight gauge, no butting, no blade
  • Gauge: 2.0 mm is 14 gauge, 2.34 mm is 13 gauge
  • Sold: each

You will also need

  • Nipples: sold separately, matched to the spoke thread
  • Correct length: calculate from rim ERD, hub dimensions, spoke count, and lacing, or have OMG's bike shop measure and build the wheel.
