The Enduro 6801 MAX is a sealed cartridge bearing measuring 12 mm inside diameter, 21 mm outside diameter, and 5 mm wide. It is built for suspension pivots.
Full suspension frames pivot on small cartridge bearings that rock back and forth under heavy load instead of spinning. Enduro's MAX bearings are designed for that job. Replace pivot bearings when they feel gritty, notchy, or loose.
MAX design: a standard bearing uses a retainer to space the balls. A MAX bearing has no retainer. The races have a fill slot so the bearing can be packed with the maximum number of balls. Enduro rates this at about 35% more load capacity than a standard retainer type bearing.
Trade off: Enduro notes that MAX bearings do not spin as smoothly as retainer bearings. They are meant for pivots, not for wheels or other parts that spin fast.
LLU seals: a double lip seal on each side forms a labyrinth to keep water and dirt out.
Grease: the bearing comes filled with high pressure grease.
