The Ergon SM Comp Men is a mountain bike saddle shaped for male anatomy, in size M/L for sit bones 12 to 16 cm apart.

What it's for

Ergon lists the SM Comp Men for all mountain and trail riding, cross country and marathon, and mountain bike touring. It is designed to keep long rides comfortable and to prevent numbness by taking pressure off soft tissue and putting it on the sit bones.

How it works

Deep relief channel: A channel runs down the middle and gets deeper toward the rear, ending in an opening through the saddle shell. It takes pressure off the perineal area.

OrthoCell pads: Inlays under the sit bones spread pressure and rebound quickly. Ergon states OrthoCell is more durable and lighter than gel.

Orthopedic comfort foam: The main padding is a foam Ergon developed for mountain biking.

Flat rear: The tail is narrow and flat, so you can slide back and move around on descents.

Side flanks: Low friction sides reduce rubbing on your thighs while pedaling.

QuickClick mount: An integrated, removable mount accepts Topeak QuickClick saddle bags.

Sizing and fit

• Size S/M: sit bone width 8 to 12 cm (3.1 to 4.7 in)
• Size M/L: sit bone width 12 to 16 cm or more (4.7 to 6.3 in or more)

• How to check yours: Sit bone width is measured by sitting on a gel pad or a piece of corrugated cardboard and measuring center to center between the two dents.
