SM E-Mountain Pro Men
For experienced male e-mountain bikers
Relief of the perineal area
Maximum uphill support
The SM E-Mountain Pro Men is a purpose built saddle for the experienced E-MTB rider in demanding terrain. It is tuned for an athletic, firm feel and delivers excellent comfort along with refined ergonomics. An upturned rear ramp and wider, flatter nose add support through long, steep seated climbs. Optimally positioned OrthoCell inlays distribute pressure across the sit bone area, while the design built around male anatomy delivers relief where it matters most.
Energy saving ramp
–
Supportive in steeper terrain
The SM E-Mountain Pro Men improves the rider's seated position while climbing. The upturned rear ramp gives a stable, effort saving hold on uphill terrain.
Wide saddle nose
–
More climbing comfort
The saddle's nose features a wider, flatter design for added comfort and support as the body moves forward and lower through steep, demanding climbs.
Sportive flat
–
Minimal, supportive padding
The minimal supportive padding delivers trail feedback without compromising riding comfort. An athletic design that balances support and performance.
Deep relief channel
–
Reducing unwanted pressure
The progressive relief channel deepens toward the rear and leads to an opening through the saddle shell. Pressure in this area can cause discomfort and numbness, and this design gives the shell more forgiveness while relieving perineal pressure.
OrthoCell inlays
–
Durable, responsive support
The OrthoCell material supports strong performance with reduced complaints. These inlays are durable and lightweight, distributing pressure and providing high rebound force. They follow the movement of the pelvis with every turn of the crank and return to their starting position quickly.
Defined AirCell padding
–
Firm and comfortable
The padding uses a lightweight AirCell foam designed to be comfortable and high performance. Body weight across the seat area is distributed effectively through the OrthoCell inlays and AirCell padding, increasing the supportive qualities of the saddle.
Low friction side flanks
–
Less friction, more movement
For added comfort, the SM E-Mountain Pro Men features purpose built side flanks. The low friction material allows for easy leg clearance and smooth position changes for dynamic riding.
Integrated QuickClick mount
–
Removable Topeak QuickClick saddle bag mount
A Topeak QuickClick mount is integrated into all models in the SM-E Mountain series. The removable mount allows Topeak saddle bags to attach in a streamlined fashion.
Ergonomics
Men's health
Research into men's health found that the saddle is the main cause of complaints while cycling. Men often experience pressure on the perineal area, which can lead to pain, discomfort, numbness, and more serious health concerns. The SM E-Mountain saddle relieves this pressure through a specific relief channel and improved surface distribution under the bony structures. Through MRI and CT analysis, prototyping, and test riding, the saddle is shaped to the anatomy and needs of men.
More freedom of movement
The male pelvis tends to sit more upright, placing more weight on the sit bones. This allows the transition area between the rear of the saddle and the nose to stay narrow (a Y shape), giving the legs more room to pedal.
Pelvic differences
In male anatomy the sit bones are narrower and the point where the two sides of the pelvis meet at the front sits higher. This places more pressure on the sit bones. The saddle is developed with this anatomy in mind.
No pressure on sensitive areas
Correct pressure distribution matters. To protect the sensitive perineal area, pressure is shifted to the sit bones and parts of the pubic arch, which is how the relief surface works. Because the male pelvis sits more upright, the surface is kept flat and even for freedom of movement, with high quality foams for support.
The right size
The shape and size of the saddle should match the sit bone width of the rider for the best comfort. The pelvic bone has a unique V shape, and the saddle offers the sit bones a large contact surface across different riding positions. Various widths are offered so the usable seat surface corresponds to the rider's sit bone distance. The more forward and aggressive the riding position, the further forward the sit bones contact the saddle.
