The Ergon SM Women is a mountain bike saddle shaped for female anatomy, in size M/L with chromoly rails.

What it's for

Ergon lists the SM Women for all mountain and trail riding, cross country and marathon, mountain bike touring, and enduro. The shape accounts for the lower pubic arch and wider pelvic angle typical of women, and aims to relieve soft tissue pressure while leaving room to move.

How it works

Relief channel: A tapered cut out in the center supports the area around it and takes pressure off sensitive tissue.

Orthopedic foam: The padding is a foam Ergon developed for mountain biking, built to hold its support over time.

Flat rear: The tail is flat, which leaves room to shift position and to stand and pedal.

Sizing and fit

  • Size S/M: sit bone width 8 to 12 cm (3.1 to 4.7 in)
  • Size M/L: sit bone width 12 to 16 cm or more (4.7 to 6.3 in or more)
  • This saddle: M/L
  • How to check yours: Sit bone width is measured by sitting on a gel pad or a piece of corrugated cardboard and measuring center to center between the two dents.

Setup and installation

  • Setup: Start with the saddle level and adjust in small steps. OMG's bike shop can help with saddle height and position.
