The Ground Keeper Custom Fork Keeper is an adhesive protection kit for a mountain bike fork, shown here in the Gold Shift finish. It uses the same material as Ground Keeper's frame protection.

What it's for

The Fork Keeper covers the fork lowers to protect the fork from scratches and wear. Ground Keeper fork decals can be applied over the top of it.

How it works

Material: a high tack, flexible film that conforms to the contours of the fork.

Thickness: 10 mil. Ground Keeper describes this as the middle point between durability and the ability to conform to curves.

Kit layout: the kit has pieces for the fork legs plus a center guard, which is what gives it a universal fit.

Compatibility

• Fits: all mountain bike forks and sizes, including 29 in, 27.5 in, and 26 in forks
• Also fits: gravel and road forks, with full coverage
• 27.5 in forks with bleeder valves: the leg piece needs to be trimmed
• Decals: Ground Keeper fork decals go on over the protection

Setup and installation

• Step 1: Remove the wheel and any decals, then clean the fork with isopropyl alcohol.
• Step 2: On 27.5 in forks with bleeder valves, trim the leg piece. Round off any hard corners you cut.
• Step 3: Center the guard on the fork leg with the seam facing inward, then press from the center outward.
• Step 4: Apply fork decals over the protection if you are using them.
• Shop install: OMG's bike shop can install it for you.
