The Hestra Ergo Grip Active Wool Terry is a five finger glove for active outdoor use, with a goat leather palm, a windproof stretch back, and a wool terry lining. It comes in Dark Forest/Black in sizes 6, 7, and 8.

What it's for

High output cold weather use: ski touring, Nordic skiing, hiking, hunting, and fishing. Hestra describes the Ergo Grip Active as a year round multipurpose glove.

How it works

Ergo Grip: Hestra's patented pattern. The glove is cut with the fingers already curved and the seams placed so the hand can move freely, which improves grip on poles and tools.

Windproof back: Hestra lists the Ergo Grip Active back of hand as a windproof, highly breathable stretch fabric.

Goat leather: Impregnated goat leather on the palm for durability and grip.

Wool terry lining: This version is named for its wool terry lining. Wool keeps insulating when damp.

Sizing and fit

• How to measure: Wrap a measuring tape around your hand just below the knuckles, leaving out the thumb. With no tape, use a string and measure the string against a ruler. Hestra posts a size guide on each product page.

Care and service

• Cleaning: Wipe stains with a damp cloth and a high fat soap. Do not machine wash leather gloves.
• Drying: Stand the gloves upright to dry.
• Liners: Wash removable liners separately and air dry them flat. Do not turn a liner that is sewn in inside out.
• Conditioning: Once the leather is fully dry, rub in Hestra Leather Balm to keep it supple.
• Wool linings: Hand wash only.
