Jagwire Mountain Sport Brake Pads are threaded post rim brake pads for linear pull and cantilever brakes, made with Jagwire's all weather compound.

What it's for

These are replacement pads for mountain, hybrid, and commuter bikes with rim brakes. Jagwire lists them as compatible with both linear pull and cantilever brake systems, and uses an all weather compound meant to work in wet and dry conditions. Sport is the second tier in Jagwire's range, above Basics.

Compatibility

• Fits: linear pull brakes and cantilever brakes that take a threaded post pad
• Does not fit: brakes that use a smooth post pad. Jagwire sells a separate Mountain Sport Canti pad for those
• How to check yours: a threaded post pad has a threaded stud that passes through the brake arm and is held by a nut. A smooth post pad has a plain round pin clamped by an eye bolt

Setup and installation

• Alignment: set the pad flat against the rim's braking surface, clear of the tire and not hanging below the rim
• Service: OMG's bike shop can install and align brake pads
