Jagwire Road Pro S Inserts are replacement rubber inserts for cartridge style road rim brake pads. You slide out the worn insert and slide in a new one, and keep the metal holder.

What it's for

A cartridge brake pad has two parts: a metal holder that stays bolted to the caliper and a rubber insert that does the braking. When the insert wears down, you replace only the insert. Jagwire says its Road Pro series pads are compatible with SRAM, Shimano, and Campagnolo style caliper brakes, and that they use its Pro Series compound.

Compatibility

• Fits: the S version is the SRAM and Shimano style insert, per Jagwire's naming for its Road Pro and Road Sport pads
• Does not fit: Campagnolo style holders, which take a different insert shape
• How to check yours: look at your pad holder. If it has a small set screw holding the insert and is a SRAM or Shimano style road holder, this is the insert shape to use

Setup and installation

• Swap: loosen the holder's retaining screw, slide the old insert out the open end, slide the new one in, and retighten the screw
• Direction: the open end of the holder faces the rear of the bike so braking force pushes the insert into the closed end
• Service: OMG's bike shop can swap inserts and realign pads
