The K-EDGE Adjustable Stem Mount positions a Garmin computer above the stem. It installs in place of a 5 mm headset spacer under the top cap, and the angle adjusts to line up with your stem.

What it's for

On a mountain bike, a computer out in front of the bar is exposed in a crash. This mount keeps it over the stem and out of the way. K-EDGE notes it is used from World Cup racing to everyday trail rides.

How it works

Spacer mount: The base is a ring that takes the place of one 5 mm spacer below the top cap, so it is held by the headset stack.

Angle hinge: A hinge lets you match the screen angle to the stem. It is set once and locked; K-EDGE states it is not meant for adjustment while riding.

Compatibility

• Steerer: 1 1/8 in.
• Computers: Garmin (this version). A Wahoo version is a separate part.
• How to check yours: You need at least one 5 mm spacer in your headset stack to remove, either above or below the stem.

Setup and installation

• Torque: Hinge screw 2 N·m, tightened to a fixed position.
• Headset: After changing spacers, reset headset preload and retighten the stem bolts to the stem maker's torque.
