This is the original Karakoram UltraClip, a splitboard clip with Active Joining that preloads the two board halves against each other. Karakoram supplies it with thru mount hardware.

What it's for

Board clips sit along the seam and hold a splitboard together in ride mode. Karakoram's Active Joining clips preload the halves so the joined board acts like a solid snowboard in bending and in twist.

Compatibility

• Hardware: Thru mount
• Replacing other clips: Karakoram says its clips can replace Voile hooks on most splitboards with no drilling. One hole on Karakoram clips is threaded, so follow the instructions.
• With Karakoram bindings: Karakoram bindings must be used with Karakoram clips

Setup and installation

• Tension: Clips should snap into place but should not be hard to lift. Adjust by loosening the hardware on one side, sliding it toward or away from the seam and tightening again.
• Shop service: OMG can install clips for you

Care and service

• Hardware: Karakoram says clips need no maintenance beyond checking that the hardware is tight
• Ice: Keep the inside edge of the board clear of ice so the clips close fully
