The Key Equipment Disruptive is a hardboot made for splitboarding, listed here in size 26. It has tech toe inserts and a walk mode for the climb, and it is built as a snowboard boot for the ride down.

What it's for

The Disruptive is for splitboarders who tour in hardboots. Tech toe inserts let the boot pivot in a tech toe piece on the way up, and the boot is designed around downhill power and precision once you put the board together.

How it works

Tech toe inserts: fittings at the toe that the pins of a tech toe piece clamp into, so the boot pivots freely while you skin.

Walk mode: a nearly friction free walk mode lets the cuff move as you stride.

Lateral support: the shell gives side to side support, which helps on sidehills during the skin up.

Forward lean: a tool free quick adjustment changes the forward lean for riding.

Pivot hardware: updated T-Nuts at the pivot point are made to last longer and make strap changes easier.

Compatibility

• Touring: needs tech toe pieces on your splitboard for the uphill
• Riding: needs a hardboot splitboard binding system and pucks
• How to check yours: bring your board to OMG and the shop can check your binding setup against the boot
