The microSHIFT DS85-8 is an indexed twist shifter for 8 speed drivetrains. This is the right (rear) shifter.

What it's for

A twist shifter changes gears by rotating a grip section on the handlebar. The DS85-8 right shifter controls an 8 speed rear derailleur.

How it works

Indexing: each click of the grip pulls or releases a set amount of cable to move the derailleur one gear. microSHIFT describes the throw as light with a tactile click.

Gear indicator: an optical window on the shifter shows which gear you are in.

Compatibility

• Speeds: 8
• Derailleurs: Shimano mountain compatible
• Shift cable: Campagnolo style shift cables only, per microSHIFT. The cable head is smaller than a Shimano style head.
• How to check yours: count the cogs on your rear wheel to confirm 8, and confirm your rear derailleur is a Shimano mountain compatible model.
