The Mountain Sense Rescue Kit is a ski repair, first aid, and rescue kit curated by IFMGA guide Mark Smiley for backcountry ski touring. Mountain Sense sells it in Pro and Basic options, and this listing is the Basic.

What it's for

The kit puts repair, medical, and rescue gear in one organized case so you carry it on every tour. Mountain Sense says it was built over years of work with mountain guides, doctors, and paramedics, and that it addresses broken binding toe or heel pieces, binding adjustments, glopped skins, icy bases, damaged climbing skins, loose bolts, core shots, blisters, heavy bleeding, and cardiac arrest.

How it works

Video instruction: every item comes with video instruction from Mark Smiley on how to use it.

Organized case: the items sit in an EVA foam carrying case so you can see what is there and what is missing.

Stuff sack anchor: the waterproof stuff sack is also made to be buried as a deadman snow anchor.
