With more than 200 miles of trails just minutes from town, Aspen offers an incredible variety of hiking options. The Aspen Local Trails Map helps simplify the choice by highlighting where locals go for everything from quick family walks to challenging mountain adventures.

This map combines a detailed trail map on the front with a helpful guide on the back featuring a curated selection of recommended hikes. Options range from the easy 1.4-mile Highline Trail to the more demanding 12.3-mile Government Trail. Each featured hike includes a brief description along with key details such as distance, elevation gain, and a detailed elevation profile to help you track your progress through the region’s peaks and valleys.

Every Local Trails map includes highly detailed trail mapping at a scale of 1 inch = 1/2 mile, making every turn in the trail easy to see while clearly displaying terrain contours in steeper areas. In addition to standard features like trailheads and parking areas, the map also identifies difficulty ratings for individual trail segments, helping you quickly determine whether a trail is consistently moderate or includes only short challenging sections.

Like all National Geographic Local Trails maps, it’s printed on “Backcountry Tough” waterproof, tear-resistant paper for durability in the field. A full UTM grid is also included to assist with GPS navigation.
