Nikwax TX.Direct Wash-In adds water repellency to breathable waterproof clothing in the washing machine or by hand, and revives breathability. This is the 300 ml bottle.

What it's for

Reproofing waterproof jackets, pants and gloves once water stops beading on the outside. Nikwax states that a face fabric that soaks up water can cut breathability by up to 70%, which is why a wetted out jacket feels clammy.

How it works

Fiber treatment: leaves a flexible water repellent treatment on the fibers so water beads off and moisture vapor can still escape.

No heat needed: Nikwax states it works without tumble drying.

Compatibility

• Recommended for: GORE-TEX, eVent and similar waterproof breathable fabrics

Setup and installation

• Before you start: clean the garment with Nikwax Tech Wash in a separate cycle, and shake the bottle
• Detergent: do not use conventional detergents, which can damage water repellency
• Front loader: 100 ml (3.5 fl oz) per garment, 2 garments at most
• Top loader: 300 ml (10 fl oz) per cycle, 3 garments at most
• Machine settings: warm or cold water, normal cycle, slow spin, extra rinse if possible
• By hand: 1 garment in 7.5 L (2 gal) of warm water with 100 ml (3.5 fl oz), soak 5 to 10 minutes with agitation, then rinse well in cold water

• Drying: air dry, or tumble dry on low if the care label allows
