The Ortovox AVABAG Rearming Tool resets the AVABAG avalanche airbag system after a practice release. It is for the AVABAG system that uses a cartridge.

What it's for

The AVABAG system lets you practice pulling the trigger with no cartridge installed, as many times as you like, so the motion is familiar in a real slide. After each practice release the system has to be reactivated, and this tool does that.

How it works

Practice release: remove the cartridge, pull the handle, and the mechanism fires without inflating the airbag

Rearming: use the tool to put tension back on the release mechanism so the system is ready again. Follow the AVABAG manual for the steps

• Fits: Ortovox AVABAG avalanche airbag system with cartridge
• Does not apply to: the electronic AVABAG LiTRIC system, which Ortovox lists as a separate product line
• How to check yours: if your Ortovox airbag pack uses a screw in gas cartridge, it is the AVABAG system this tool is for

Setup and installation

• After rearming: reinstall the cartridge and confirm the system is armed before you go out
