The Ortovox DIRACT VOICE is a 3 antenna avalanche transceiver that gives spoken instructions during a search. It runs on a rechargeable lithium ion battery and comes with a carrying system.

What it's for

A transceiver transmits while you travel in avalanche terrain and switches to search so you can locate a buried partner. The DIRACT VOICE adds voice prompts so you can follow the search without reading every step off the screen. Ortovox rates it for ski touring and freeride.

How it works

Voice navigation: spoken search instructions in 9 languages (German, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Norwegian, Swedish, Czech, Dutch), backed by symbols on the display

Smart Antenna: the device analyzes how it is lying and switches to the antenna in the most favorable position to transmit

Display: a full graphic 34 x 45 mm screen with 360 degree real time direction. The reading is stable from the first signal received

Fine search: visual and acoustic support as you close in

Group check: confirm your partners' transceivers before you set out

Secondary avalanche protection: switches automatically back to transmit

Standby mode: suppresses your signal during a search so you do not disturb other searchers

Flagging: mark a located person and move to the next signal. The device handles up to 4 signals at once

Self test: the device checks itself continuously

Bluetooth: software updates through the free ORTOVOX app for iOS and Android
