Otso's steel bikepacking frame, built to carry gear for days and to run either drop bars or flat bars.

What it's for

Otso designed the Fenrir Steel from the ground up for bikepacking. It is meant to ride steady with a full load and can be built with drop bars or flat bars, a suspension or rigid fork, a dropper or rigid post, and a mechanical or electronic drivetrain.

How it works

• Bar flexibility: designed around drop bars with a 50mm stem or MTB bars with an 80mm stem. Otso suggests an 80 to 90mm stem for flat bars because the top tube is short for a mountain bike.
• Drop bar feel: with drop bars, Otso describes it riding like an extra capable gravel bike. Standard or wider bars both work, so you can fit a large handlebar roll.
• Mounts: bottle, fender and rack mounts on the frame, plus three pack mounts on each side of the fork.
• Dropper ready: a small port near the bottom of the seat tube routes a dropper cable.

Compatibility

• Tires: up to 29 x 2.6 inch or 27.5 x 2.8 inch on the frame and fork.
• Racks Otso lists as compatible: Axiom Streamliner 29er DLX rear, Topeak Uni Super Tourist DX rear, Blackburn Outpost Rear World Touring, Old Man Mountain Divide front (Fit Kit SET701) and Old Man Mountain Divide rear (custom Fit Kit SET826 for 1.0TP).
• Frame bags: Otso publishes frame bag dimension drawings for each size.
