The Park Tool VC-1 is a small tool for removing and installing Presta and Schrader valve cores and valve extenders.

What it's for

The valve core is the small threaded insert inside the valve that holds the air in. Park Tool lists three main jobs for this tool: tubeless tire setup, replacing a damaged or leaking valve core, and letting air out of large volume tires quickly. Pulling the core also lets you add sealant through the valve.

• Fits: removable Presta valve cores
• Fits: Presta valve extenders with 5 mm wrench flats
• Note: not all Presta cores are removable
• How to check yours: look at the top of a Presta valve below the small lock nut. If you see two flat spots on the core body, it can be unscrewed
