The Raide Research LF 30L is a light ski touring backpack that expands from 30 L to 38 L with a waterproof roll top. You can reach the avalanche tool pockets without taking the pack off.

What it's for

The LF 30L is a day touring and ski mountaineering pack. Raide aimed for a balance of weight, features, comfort, and durability: full ski and board carry, helmet and ice tool carry, and fast access to shovel and probe, at about 1 kg.

How it works

Avalanche tool access: dedicated shovel and probe pockets that Raide designed to be reached without removing the pack

Roll top: adds 8 L of volume for bigger days and seals the top. The roll top fabric is waterproof

Back panel: a molded composite insert with anti bulge ribs keeps a full pack from rounding into your back. The panel also zips open for access to the main compartment

Removable frame: a 7 mm aluminum tube frame (80 g) supports heavier loads. Pull it to bring the pack down to 980 g

Modular carry: straps reposition for diagonal ski carry, skimo style carry, A frame ski carry, and vertical snowboard carry

Features

• Helmet carry: built in, and it can also hold crampons inside
• Ice tools: carry with enclosed picks
• Access: back panel zipper and top zipper
• Stash pockets: two quick access pockets with drainage
• Hip pockets: two zippered pockets, sized for an iPhone
• Shoulder straps: 8 mm foam
• Other: glove stash strap, radio or hydration pass through, ice clipper and carabiner attachment

• Size S: 11.5 x 5 x 19.5 in
