Schwalbe calls the Albert the all rounder among its trail and enduro tires. It is meant to work on hardpack and on soft ground, for racing or for long days out, and Schwalbe also approves it for electric mountain bikes.
Radial casing: In a conventional bike tire the casing threads cross at a sharp angle. In the Albert they are laid at a blunter angle. That lets the casing deform more locally around rocks and roots, which gives a larger contact patch on the trail. Schwalbe credits this with more grip and more damping.
Gravity Pro: The heavier construction, with an extra casing layer for stability and puncture protection on heavier bikes and in hard use. It also has APEX, an added fabric reinforcement against pinch punctures.
Trail Pro: The lighter construction. Schwalbe describes its Trail casing as a balance of puncture protection and low weight, so it climbs more easily.
Soft compound: The more versatile rubber, with a balance of rolling speed and damping. Schwalbe places it between enduro and downhill use.
Ultra Soft compound: The grippiest, most damped rubber, which Schwalbe also recommends for winter. Schwalbe says its current Ultra Soft has 50% more damping than the earlier version.
Mixing compounds: Schwalbe suggests you can run Soft on the rear and Ultra Soft on the front.
