The Shimano SM-RT86 is a 6 bolt disc brake rotor with ICE TECHNOLOGIES, a three layer blade that sheds heat for consistent braking. This one is 180 mm.

What it's for

A rotor for long descents and hard braking, where heat build up causes fade.

How it works

ICE TECHNOLOGIES: the braking surface is a sandwich of stainless steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. The aluminum core pulls heat away, which Shimano says gives less fade, less noise, and longer pad life.

The blade shape is cut to shed mud.
