The Smith Embark is a glacier sunglass for alpine travel, with removable side shields, a goggle style retainer strap, and ChromaPop lenses. It is offered here with a Photochromic Copper Blue Mirror lens in a Matte Black frame or a ChromaPop Polarized Gray Green lens in a Black frame.
Ski touring, mountaineering, and glacier travel, where light bounces off snow from every direction. The side shields close the gaps a normal sunglass leaves open, and they come off when you want a regular sunglass.
ChromaPop: Smith's lens tint technology. It filters light at the two points where blue and green, and green and red, wavelengths overlap, which gives greater definition and more natural color.
Photochromic lens: The tint changes on its own. It gets darker in bright light and lighter in shade or low light, so one lens covers a wider range of conditions.
Polarized lens: A treatment that filters reflected light waves. It cuts glare, improves contrast, and reduces eye fatigue.
Side shields: Removable TPU shields block light from the sides. They are vented so air can still move behind the lens.
AutoLock hinges: The temples hold open so you can put the glasses on and take them off with one hand.
