The Smith Pursuit is a shield sunglass for backcountry travel with goggle like coverage. It has a ChromaPop Glacier Photochromic lens that shifts from category 1 to category 4, removable magnetic side shields, and a bonus clear lens. This one has a Matte Black frame.
Ski touring, ski mountaineering, and other long days on snow where a goggle is too hot on the climb and a normal sunglass leaves too many gaps. One lens covers most light, and the clear lens covers dawn starts and storms.
ChromaPop Glacier Photochromic: The lens tint changes with the light, from category 1 to category 4. Smith says it adapts with less sensitivity to temperature changes, which matters because cold usually affects photochromic lenses.
ChromaPop: Smith's lens tint technology. It filters light at the two points where blue and green, and green and red, wavelengths overlap, which gives greater definition and more natural color.
Magnetic side shields: TPU shields snap on with magnets to block side light on bright snow and pull off when you do not need them.
Interchangeable lens: The lens swaps out, so you can fit the included clear lens or a replacement tint.
Screwless AutoLock hinges: The temples hold open for one hand use, and with no screws there is nothing to back out in a pack.
