Squeak! Goes Backcountry Skiing is an illustrated children's book written by D. Scott Borden and illustrated by Mallory Logan, published by Beacon Guidebooks.

What it's for

This is a picture book for kids who like snow and skiing. Squeak is a mouse who lives in the subnivean zone, the space under the snowpack. She ends up in a skier's backpack by accident and is carried along on a backcountry ski tour. Other animals reassure her and explain the sport along the way. When the skiers struggle with a decision about avalanche hazard, Squeak has to get past her fear and help them make the call.
