The Biru is a true one-board quiver for advanced riders who want a snowboard that can dominate the entire mountain. Compact, powerful, and unapologetically aggressive, it blends freestyle pop with freeride authority in a volume-shifted shape built to go hard everywhere.
Awarded “Best Party Snowboard 23/24” by The Angry Snowboarder and tested as one of the Best Snowboards of 2024 and 2025 by Outside Magazine (US), the Biru has proven itself across conditions and terrain.
Its volume-shifted design features a wide waist, allowing riders to size down 4–5 cm without losing stability or float. A long powder nose and compact fish tail deliver effortless lift in deep snow, while full camber with a touch of early rise provides maximum pop, drive, and control.
The aggressively turned-up tail kick allows for switch landings without consequences, while three strategically placed Power Bumps™ along the edge ensure reliable grip during freeze–thaw cycles and hardpack conditions. A sintered race base keeps the Biru fast in all snow types.
At its heart is Stranda’s proven core blend of poplar, paulownia, and ash—lively, damp, and durable. And the name? Biru means “devil” in the Sámi language. Fitting—for a board that refuses to behave.

The Biru features a long powder nose paired with a compact fish tail. Full camber combined with a radically turned-up tail kick makes switch landings easy and forgiving. Three Power Bumps™ along the edge enhance grip and control on firm and icy snow.
A full 6 mm camber delivers maximum energy, response, and pop, while a subtle early rise in the nose improves turn initiation and float.
Stranda Snowboards builds its cores around ash wood, blended with poplar and paulownia. Ash provides excellent vibration dampening and long-lasting camber retention, extending the life of the board. Poplar and paulownia reduce overall weight, keeping the Biru lively and agile without sacrificing strength.
