The SunRace M2A (MFM2A 5DS) is a 5 speed steel freewheel with a 14-28 tooth range.

What it's for

A freewheel is a cog cluster with the coasting mechanism built in. It threads onto the rear hub. SunRace places the M2A in its entry level range for city, mountain, and road bikes with 5 speed drivetrains.

Compatibility

• Speeds: 5
• Hub type: threaded freewheel hub
• Does not fit: cassette hubs, which have a splined freehub body in place of threads
• How to check yours: remove the rear wheel and look at the smallest cog. If the whole cluster spins together on the hub when coasting and has no separate lockring holding the cogs on splines, it is a freewheel. Count your cogs to confirm 5.

Setup and installation

• Removal of the old freewheel needs the matching freewheel tool. OMG's bike shop can swap it and check your chain for wear at the same time.
