What it's for

The Rolling Darryl is a rim for building fat bike wheels. At 82 mm wide it spreads a 3.8 in tire into a larger footprint than a 65 mm rim does, which is what you want for soft surfaces at low pressure.

How it works

Single wall with cutouts: material is removed between the spoke holes to reduce weight. Your rim strip shows through the cutouts.

64 hole dual pattern: the rim is drilled with 64 spoke holes so a 32 hole hub can be laced in more than one way. You use 32 of the holes.

Setup and installation

• Wheel building: this is a bare rim. It needs a hub, spokes, nipples, and a rim strip. OMG's bike shop can build the wheel.
