The WNDR Alpine Shepherd Tour is a directional splitboard for backcountry touring, here in the 166 cm length. It splits into two halves for the climb and joins back into a snowboard for the descent.

What it's for

Human powered snowboarding: steep terrain, powder, and the uphill travel it takes to get there. WNDR Alpine sums up the ride as lively, precise, and nimble.

How it works

Shape: Directional, with an early rise nose for float and a tail that tapers. WNDR says the taper adds stability.

Camber: 5 mm of directional camber with a slight early rise in the nose.

Algal Core: Vertically laminated domestic aspen with 4 stringers of algal polyurethane foam running tip to tail.

Algal Wall: A seamless semi cap sidewall made from algal polyurethane. WNDR says it adds damping and stability.

Flex: Stiff in the nose, medium between the feet, and stiff in the tail.

• Split hardware: Spark R&D latches and clips
