The Wolf Tooth 76 BCD Chainring is a 32 tooth single ring for cranks and spiders with a 76 mm bolt circle, such as SRAM XX1 spiders and Specialized Stout cranks.

What it's for

This ring lets you run a 1x drivetrain on a 76 BCD crank, or replace a worn ring. The narrow wide teeth hold the chain without a front derailleur.

How it works

Drop-Stop tooth profile: The teeth alternate wide and narrow to match the wide and narrow gaps in a chain. That keeps the chain centered on the ring. Wolf Tooth says the wide teeth spread the load for longer wear and the narrow teeth leave room for mud to clear.

Compatibility

• Cranks: any 76 BCD crankset or spider, including SRAM XX1 spiders, Specialized Stout cranksets, and Cannondale 76 BCD cranks
• Chains (Drop-Stop A): 9, 10, and 11 speed chains, plus 12 speed SRAM Eagle, Connex, and Wippermann
• Does not fit: 12 speed Shimano HG+, KMC 12 speed, SRAM Transmission flattop, or Campagnolo 12 speed chains
• How to check yours: BCD is the diameter of the circle through the chainring bolt holes. 76 BCD cranks have four bolts.

Setup and installation

• Bolts: needs standard M8 chainring bolts. The M8.5 bolts supplied with SRAM XX1 spiders do not work.
• XX1 spider: use 6 mm long bolts
• Specialized Stout: use 10 mm long bolts
• Mud: for very muddy riding Wolf Tooth recommends adding a chainguide or chainkeeper along with a clutch rear derailleur.
